Bumblebee Bat

5. BUMBLEBEE BAT

The bumblebee bat is the smallest mammal species in the world. The largest bat was measured only to be 1 inch in size--just a little over the size of a dime. Only found in Thailand, these tiny creatures hover like hummingbirds and like other bats prefer dwelling in caves and feasting on insects.

Unfortunately the bumble-bee bat is a critically endangered species with fewer than 200 remaining in the wild.
