This fascinating creature appears to be a very cranky fish and looks like something out of a science fiction movie. It may even be the ugliest looking creature on our planet. Anglers have huge heads and enormous crescent-shaped mouths filled with sharp, translucent teeth. They can grow to be quite large, reaching up to 3 feet in length.

The mating habits of this creature sound like a real horror story. The male bites into the female and he begins to literally melt while molding into the female's body. Eventually the male melts into a reproductive organ attached to the female's body and then she can begin to impregnate herself.
