Chinese Alligator

4. CHINESE ALLIGATOR

The Chinese alligator is the most endangered of all crocodilians. Only fewer than 120 alligators are left in the wild. Populations are rapidly declining due to extreme habitat loss and agricultural pollution. According to biologists, unless extreme actions are taken, the Chinese alligator will become extinct in the wild. So far hunting has become prohibited and the remaining habitat of the species is legally protected.
